Rainbow End Reviews

Cherie
This is our 4th stay at Rainbow End, only a couple of things to mention about our stay because the majority of the property are excellent and it would not put us off staying again. We had a power cut on our final day which set the alarm off, the maintenance man was quick to call back but we both acknowledged that the code should be available in the house. When the electric company was contacted they said it was a planned power cut and was scheduled from 9.00am until 3.00pm so I think that this needed to have been communicated to us . Dog owners should also be aware that there is an area in the back garden that is not fully enclosed under the tree into next doors garden . All that said we love Rainbow End its position is perfect
We got moved to this house last minute as the heating stopped working in our other place. The house is a really nice layout and huge. Driveway is really big too. The views from the big windows are incredible. Location is perfect and only a short walk into Grasmere. We had everything we needed and have actually booked to stay here again!! Only things I would say for improvement would be a higher tog duvet for the winter as they were very thin and underneath the sofas could do with a clean. Also the dishwasher didnt work for us which wasnt a major issue. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
We had an amazing time at Rainbow end for 4 nights. The position of the cottage is excellent for walks in the Central fells, also only a 3 minute walk into Grasmere. The cottage was very comfortable with all the amenities you need. The layout also suited our group, as the kitchen, diner and living room were at one end, and the bedrooms at the other. The downside was that the dishwasher didn't work, but it didn't spoil our stay. We would definitely recommend and stay at Rainbow end again

Excellent cottage in a great location. We really enjoyed our weeks stay and wed definitely consider booking it again.
We have just returned from our 3rd visit to Rainbow End previous visits in 2017 and 2019. We were really pleased to return to the amazing views from all windows and the fantastic location in Grasmere. All five of us and our two dogs had a very comfortable stay and we will definitely be back! Thank you.

This is the second time staying a Rainbow End , it is one of the best properties. It has everything you need and lovely and clean . Very convenient position , good car parking and large enclosed garden for the dog. The only comment I would make is to adjust the heating time for the colder evenings to come on earlier it came on a 6.00pm and warmed up quickly but for Autumnwinter maybe 45pm would be better. But otherwise fantastic .
Thoroughly enjoyed ore stay at Rainbow End. It was a delightful residence , lots of space , beautiful views and a kitchen stocked with all the utensils we needed for any meals we wished to produce. Would be happy to stay here again
We have been coming to Rainbow End for a while and a number of times a year, however the property is not cleaned to a good standard, with dirt under the sofas, dirt around bathroom taps and general dust everywhere. The property is also becoming tired with items needing replacing, in particular the sofas which have rips on them. The plus point is that the television has been replaced so you can now watch it.
We enjoyed our stay property and location amazing. Fully equipped kitchen, very comfortable beds! Everything you need. Fantastic views and beautiful large garden but only worry we had while staying was the low walls on the entrance patio area which had a very large drop! in to lower garden, this was issue with our 3 small dogs as we had to supervise ever time they used the garden suggest being maybe a small Perspex screen on upper level of patioentrance area just to stop them jumping and going over the wall. Otherwise you have beautiful property which we would definitely book again.
Amazing property in an amazing location.
We loved the property and it's location. The views are simply amazing. We have been to the Lake District MANY times, usually Twice a year for at least the past 15 years. This was by far the nicest and best suited property for our family. Put it this way, we have already booked to return again next year. What a wonderful place.
A lovely property and the second time we have stayed there. Views from the bungalow are amazing. Grasmere is such a beautiful place.
A lovely holiday, the cottage was clean and tidy to walk into, one of the best we have hired. Only one observation that the bulb on the outside corner light was very dim and could do with being replaced, but there is no way you could know this without being there at night. Thank you for a beautiful cottage, one we would like to hire again in the future.
Darren
Excellent, large property in a great location. Lots of parking, lovely gardens and fabulous views in all directions. Only negative is the TV that needs updating to allow streaming of apps. Current TV has very limited channels and is over complicated as mentioned by others.
Lizzie
It is a great holiday home, I went with friends and we were all impressed with the cottage
Great cottage in lovely location. The view from the front is stunning! A great base for exploring the Lake District. Well equipped and comfortable.
We were pleasantly surprised by the property and the size of it and the ground it sits in. Overall it was a great stay but certain things could be improved with the cleanliness. Some kitchen plates, pans and cutlery needed washing before use, the tables in the lounge were sticky and dusty, the dirt under the rug in the lounge was bad and the beds were not that comfortable. That said it was a nice place, in a great location. Many thanks.
Great location. ...excellent property. we both love this property and will be back again very soon.
Joseph
We have stayed a couple of times at this cottage good location for getting around. Yes we would be happy to go again.
Rainbow End is a fantastic place to stay the view from the house is wonderful and the weather gave us an ever changing outlook. The kitchen was well stocked and there was plenty of space for all our holiday paraphernalia. The bedrooms were comfortable and two of them had Kingside beds there was plenty of wardrobe and cupboard space. We especially liked the covered area with seating at the front of the house where you could sit and look at the view with a cup of tea or glass of wine. Grasmere was a short walk away and there are plenty of places to eat and drink without needing to take the car. I would fully recommend Rainbow End as a great place to stay.
Katharine
Very comfortable, warm and wellequipped with the most stunning views. Very convenient for walking to Grasmere and driving to other places. Lots of storage space throughout.
