The Waves Reviews

This was our second stay at The Waves. We love the house and its position. It is an excellent high quality holiday home, clean, tidy and very well equipped. It has become our place of choice for our family winter break.
Rachel
This was our second visit to The Waves. We loved it again so much that we have booked for a third time as we were driving home!!!! The property is faultless. It has everything you need and more. We love staying here and everything about it and Amble are perfect.
Andria
Exceeded expectations photos didn't do it justice. Gorgeous house, fabulous view. Great location, it became our home from home immediately! Well furnished and equipped, lacked for nothing, and a lovely welcome hamper was a nice surprise. Would recommend would come back.
Wow. what a fantastic stay we had. The Waves has everything you need and more. One of the highlights was watching about 20 dolphins happily playing in the bay. watched from the large living room window. The kitchen has everything you need to suit whatever you want to eat. The beds were extremely comfortable too. The airconditioning is a godsend on those warm days. I would not hesitate to either recommend the waves or stay again ourselves. It was the perfect base for our day trips out and about the region.

We couldn't fault anything, everything has clearly been thoroughly thought through and your idea to live in the property first to test it out clearly worked. I actually walked around the inside of the property one day and said to myself, I could just must in here with everything as it is, wouldn't change a thing
Robert
Lovely property in an excellent location
A lovely stay in a lovely house with everything you could need. The views across to Coquet Island and beyond are stunning. Amble is a great place to stay with loads of places to eat and all within walking distance. Northumbria has lots to do and see. We have already booked to return in 2026! Thank you!!!
We stayed in march for the second time. The only things we would like to comment on were. The normal Chanels on the TV dont work therefore we struggled to watch the NewcastleWembley match. Also we struggled to get the bathroom radiators on, they seem to be on a different circuit. Other than those minor things it is a fabulous holiday home.
Rebecca
Had a lovely week staying at The Waves, everything was perfect and as described, clean and well equipped through out. Cant wait to return.
Excellent, quality property. Very well equipped. Thoughtful in the detail. Would have liked a hand towel each and we felt the quality of the bedding let down what is a great property that is otherwise of the highest standard. Loved the position the view of the spectacular sunrises in the mornings and the dark skies at night. Would definitely come back.
Tracey
We had a wonderful week in this fabulous house. Everything we needed for selfcatering was provided and the timed central heating was very welcome at such a cold time of year. The beds were spacious and comfortable, we cant remember sleeping so soundly. The amazing views from the upstairs lounge took our breath away every time we entered the room. Thank you for sharing The Waves with us. We will be back.
The Waves is by far the best holiday home we have stayed in. Everything about it we loved. Fabulous location, views from the huge window were amazing, so peaceful. The decor has been beautifully done and everything is of the best quality . The beds and bedding were so comfy too. The kitchen had everything you needed. Loads of utensils and crockery. The enclosed private sitting out area is great too. We could have stayed longer and will def return. 5 stars to the owner and cleaner because it was immaculate. We wouldnt change a thing. Thank you .
Rachel
This is an amazing, spacious, well equipped, beautifully decorated property in an idyllic location. We loved every minute of our stay. There was more than enough room for the 6 adults and 1 dog who visited and being multigenerational it was lovely that the younger adults had a separate snug to use whilst us oldies relaxed in the lounge. The only minor issue and this is as minor as it can be is that the TV was quite glitchy on some of the channels, which was worse depending on the windweather conditions. The owners should be immensely proud of what they have achieved here and we are very grateful that they are generously sharing it with everyone. The welcome hamper was very much appreciated. Thank you. One final thing I just want to mention is that there is a step at the side of the property just down the path from the bins which isn't obvious, as the stone is all the same colour and on the last day as we were leaving, my husband fell down it as he didn't see it, so could I suggest a warning sign or that the step is highlighted in some way please to make it more visible. Thank you
Stephen
Beautiful property in a fantastic location. Well presented and well equipped. The welcome basket was a thoughtful touch. Only slight niggle for us was the tv. It seemed to work on every channel initially, but by the end of the week, we could only watch Freeview. A small problem really, a just a blip compared to the superb accommodation. We love Amble and wed definitely come back to this property again, if only to see the sunrise through the magnificent windows.
Property was great spotless, modern and amazing views.
Cheryl
We had a lovely stay at the waves, 6 adults 2 children and our dog
Fabulous 1110 Property! Absolutely everything you could possibly need to relax and explore the Northumberland Coast. The Waves is a fantastic house, spotlessly clean, large and beautifully appointed to cater for every need. Our first multi generation holiday, 6 adults, a baby and a dog ,the accommodation couldn't have been better lots of room to spread out and family meals at the huge kitchen table. We had wonderful days, waking up every morning to see the sun rise over the sea , fantastic days out and down time spent glued to the incredible view. We saw dolphins on our first morning, porpoises one afternoon and seals one evening. The private secure parking for three large vehicles was an added bonus to an unforgettable week. A big Thank you to the owners for providing such a super property.
We had a fab stay in this wonderful house and the view totally has the wow factor! The house is well equipped and tastefully furnished with everything you could need. There is a beach a five minute walk away which was lovely, great for rock pooling and sandy to sit on. Really well placed for visiting Warkworth, Alnwick Castle and fabulous gardens not forgetting Bamburgh Castle and its fab beach. Amble itself has a great high street and we used the local takeaways all good and the 1911 for breakfast. The telescope was great for looking at the island and the fishing boats getting their catch in. We found a live cam set up on the island so were able to watch the puffins coming and going. On our last full day we actually got to see dolphins from the window, 2 of them, how special. Would definitely go back again and was sad to leave.

The Waves is a lovely house, very well equipped and in a brilliant location. We would definitely recommend it as a perfect holiday home.
The Waves is extremely well appointed, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The views from the lounge of the sea and Coquet Island are spectacular. The kitchen is very spacious and exceptionally well equipped. The garden is small but enclosed and safe for dogs and children, with a pleasant seating area. The bedrooms are very comfortable with good storage space. Our party comprised 3 generations of our family, and an almost blind dog. Having read previous feedback comments we brought a child safety gate for the top of the stairs standard no tool pressure gate suitable for 7581 cm openings. This proved invaluable with an adventurous toddler and disorientated dog in a house with upstairs living space. The Waves is an outstanding property in a beautiful area. We have had a wonderful holiday and would recommend the property highly.
Michael
Great location, terrific views, wonderful living accommodation. Bedrooms sparsely furnished, Two were small for two adults for a week. Ok for families with younger children. Web site stated 2 ground floor shower rooms and one ground floor family bathroom. In fact one of the shower rooms was up stairs, big issue for three adult parties. Only one chair between 4 bedrooms, limited surfaces and no mirror visible for anyone under 5ft 6in. If these issues could be resolved the place would be unbeatable.
This is an absolutely beautiful property with all mod cons. There are four well appointed bedrooms, a massive kitchen with double fridgefreezer and coffee machine, 2 lounges, one medfium and a large one with panoramic views of the see and Coquet island and both have top of the range furniture. There was an excellent welcome pack. The TVs are a little difficult to get your head round and an idiot's guide would be helpful. The DVD player did not work despite a change of batteries.
Ludwik
The property was wonderful and in a superb quiet location with magnificent views of the sea and the island of Coquet enhanced by the full wall picture windows. Watching the sun rising over the North Sea will always remain with me. The decorations, fittings and furniture throughout were of high quality and made the stay special. The house accommodated our 3 family groups of 5 adults and 3 children with ease without ever feeling crowded. The beds were particularly comfortable with our sleep enhanced by the noise of the waves rolling into the adjacent beach. This must be one of the best houses we have ever stayed in. Congratulations to the owner and his designs for creating such a wonderful holiday locationexperience. A couple of minor grumbles are 1. The step on the path on north side of the property needs highlighting by light at night and a definite marking to avoid trips. During our stay we had 3 trips which fortunately resulted in only minor injuries. 2. If possible the water running off the top window should be collected and discharged prior to falling onto the lower bedroom exterior window sill as the noise from the drips were irritating during the night. 3. The installation of a handrail on the steps from the carpark area could improve accessibility for frail guests.
Claire
This house was absolutely fantastic . it was really luxurious yet cosy & very well equipped. There were amazing views out to sea from the large living room . It was spotlessly clean, everything worked & the beds were really comfortable!! . There was ample parking, a handy enclosed garden space for our dog and such dark skies at night that we got wonderful views of the stars. A two minute walk away was a lovely wee beach where our dog had a great time playing with furry friends. It was great to be based in Amble which has lots of great restaurants & pubs within walking distance as well as supermarkets chemist etc. Many thanks to the Owners for a lovely holiday. Their house is splendid!
Beautiful house very well equipped. Furnishings are to a very high standard and very homely. The owner has put a lot of thought and care into making this house a home making the most of the fantastic view.
One of the best properties that we have ever rented, from the location, quality, equipment and facilities. A truly beautiful house and a fabulous week was had by all. Thank you & we'll be back.
Richard
Really fantastic property, incredible location. We had an amazing week with our eldest daughter and her husband and Julias parents. All three generations loved it and a great friend from Cumbria joined us overnight on our daughters birthday for a lovely walk on the Simonside Hills he was also really impressed with The Waves. Beds all really comfortable. Were all foodies so great to see such a well equipped kitchen. Also love wine so a champagne stopper and a decanter would really be the icing on the cake but totally nonessential! Will certainly recommend The Waves to family & friends.
Everything you could wish for and more in a holiday home. Beautifully furnished and fantastically located, really is something special.
The Wave was fabulous! It was a real privilege to stay in such a beautifully designed place, which was so well equipped and comfortable. The views are incredible and the space outside is matched by the space inside. We were a group of 6 which included two young children and the house was absolutely perfect. Sue
