Fontburn Farmhouse Reviews

Joanne
Booked for my sister's 50th birthday. Ideal size and location. The house really does have the wow factor and the photo's don't do it justice. Very well equipped, it has everything you need. My only negative would be the dustcobwebs in the beams.
We had an absolutely brilliant stay at Fontburn farm house. We didnt want to go home. It has everything you need to have a very comfortable stay. The farm house is very cosy and warm and has lots of space for all the family. Its also very well equipped.
Jessica
We had a fantastic week at Fontburn. The house is amazing, so much space and everything you could possibly need. Clean and spacious rooms Perfect for a family holiday so accommodating for children. Great location with walks from the door and easy journey to multiple national trusts, costal walks and castles! We will be back!
Trevor
From start to end our stay was superb. Such a beautiful farmhouse well equipped and positioned for a great staycation. From local villages to tourist attractions we will definitely be back to explore more or Northumberland.
Such a brilliant place to get away to! Such a high standard throughout and so much room for everyone the photos dont do it justice! From the toiletries, yummy welcome hamper, to all the daytoday equipment provided, this house has it all to make your time away such a wonderful break. The vast garden is an ideal outdoor space for everyone to enjoy too. We particularly appreciated all the items provided for children, such as the wide range of books, games, mini table and chairs, cutlery and crockery, baby bath, changing mat and travel cot with a proper mattress. Theyve thought of it all! The owners were very helpful and lovely, answering our previsit queries, and also questions during our stay, promptly. Cannot recommend this property highly enough and would love to return!
We had a lovely weekend at Fontburn Farmhouse , three generations and there was plenty room for all of us . The kids loved the cows in the field opposite, and the garden and played outdoor games there every day we were lucky with the weather The house was clean and we had everything we needed and everyone agreed they would like to come back . The only thing I have to mention were the mattresses on the single beds were a bit lumpy and are maybe due for a change , other than that everything was perfect .
Justine
The farmhouse is stunning. There was plenty of room and we loved the gardens which surrounded the property and felt able to let off our dog as it was enclosed once we shut the gates. The welcome pack and toiletries were a thoughtful touch. We will be back.
This was a lovely property. Perfect for children and grandparents. The house had everything you could need and a great location. Very peaceful and relaxing. Would use again.
Alison
Beautiful house in the most stunning location. If youre looking for somewhere for a total escape this is your perfect place. Everything has been thought of by the owners. We stayed as a family of 6 adults and 4 children age 612 and everyone loved it. Plenty of space for the children to run around and play and lots of social space in the house for all to enjoy. Bedrooms and bathrooms were spacious and comfortable. Would return in a heartbeat!

Jess the host was fantastic at responding she was incredibly quick when we had a question about the heating and bins. The hosts left us a lovely welcome hamper when was a valentines theme it was very well received by all guests. The house was very comfortable and well looked after the towels in the bathrooms were huge and suitable for all guests. The facilities and utensils in the kitchen were great and everything was there we required. There was a lovely walk up to the big park that the kids thoroughly enjoyed. We would highly recommend this property and hosts thank you for a wonderful stay.
The property was amazing, very well set out and facilities were great, everything we needed was catered for. We would definitely return.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Fontburn house! The house is beautiful and had everything we needed! It worked perfectly for our group of 10 plus puppy. The welcome hamper was a lovely touch and we really enjoyed all the lovely snacks and beverages. We visited the beach, local villages and did some walks around the area which were easily accessible from the property! I may wish we had booked for longer! Thank you!
Violet
Fontburn Farmhouse provided superb accommodation for our 4 generations family. The house worked well for young children, as well as the nonagenarian in the family. The house is very well equipped, including children's crockery, cutlery, a cot and high chair. The outside space served us well, providing a safe space for children to play. Our 4 year old granddaughter declared it's the best holiday house ever!
The property was clean and comfortable. The bedding and towels were luxurious. The house was lovely and spacious, well fitted out and clean. The space was very conducive to my dad's physical difficulties and the only extra thing would have been a seat in the shower. The outside space was really lovely and the weather allowed us to make some use of it which was great.
The house was gorgeous in a wonderful location with wildlife all around. It's a huge house with lots of space. Love the two lounges. The kitchen was well equipped, the beds and couches were comfortable, and we loved the views from all the windows. A wonderful stay, thank you.
Kathleen
The house was lovely and clean well kitted out kitchen etc. had a problem with the cooker which was sorted quickly and efficiently. Had a lovely stay. Thank you.
Richard
We absolutely loved this property, and are already looking at when we can return.
This is a stunning property and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this warm and spacious home. The welcome hamper was Very much appreciated. The rooms are all large and well equipped, the kitchen especially. My husband is in a powered wheelchair and was able to 'access all areas'!
Gareth
We had a lovely week at Fontburn House. The welcome pack was fabulous. The house was warm and cheerful even in the foul weather. We would definitely recommend as a fine family remote getaway in beautiful Northumberland.
Christine
A truly first class property, I would recommend it to everyone. Beautiful setting, although when we were there Storm Gerrit was at its peak, but it did not stop walks to the reservoir! The house was beautifully decorated for our Christmas visit plus delicious hampers were a special touch. The rooms were cosy and warm and we certainly enjoyed the log fires in the evenings. It was the first time our immediate family had all been together for Christmas since my offspring were teenagers and the house helped make it a very special occasion for us all. Thank you so very much for enabling us to have a wonderful Christmas in your fantastic house.
Fantastic property with great facilities in a great location.
A large farmhouse great for large families as it has 2 lounges and downstairs bedrooms. We enjoyed our stay as a 4 generation family plus dog Great for walks and star gazing. Well equipped with books.
We had a lovely stay at Fontburn the house was so spacious for our family of three generations. The hamper was lovely and although the weather was quite wet we managed to get out and about. The children had a lot of fun helping the farmer move the sheep and watching the wildlife ,hoping to return one day .
We have just returned from Fontburn Farmhouse and it is beautiful. It was perfect for our needs and we had a really special family holiday. The quality of everything was superb and there was everything in the house you would require. The outside space and the views are beautiful, it was so peaceful and lovely and we loved it. It was a very special family holiday and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone.
Alison
The house was really lovely . Beautiful spacious interiors with great outside space and loads of grass for the kids to charge around on. Such a stunning rural area to explore too with so many countryside and coastal attractions. The owners were very responsive to our queries and very kindly invited us to watch sheep shearing one morning which was most appreciated.
Jess was amazing. Very responsive and helped with every little bit of our stay. 100 recommend
Excellent from start to finish. Easy to book and great accommodation.
We stayed at Fontburn farmhouse for a family gathering with x2 Grandparents and their x2 children each with their own families of x4 and a dog. 10 in total. X1 of the grandparents is disabled but using a wheelchair into and around the house was no problem. Ground floor bedroom and amenities were perfect. We couldnt fault the property, exactly how advertised, very clean, very well equipped. Its a lovely property in a beautiful spot, great for wildlife and star gazing. It was perfect for our needs and we were sad to go home. We all said we could live there inc the dog who loved the outside space! If I had to make improvements I d say move the dishwasher as being in the utility room, it was a bit of a pain ferrying dishes back and forth. On the upside of this it burned some calories and as it sleeps so many there were plenty of hands to help! My husband burnt his hand on the log burner door handle so maybe some heat proof gloves beside log burner would be good there may have been some hiding somewhere not obvious to us He did say he should have known it would be hot but some handles are heat proof. We went back in March when it was colder but I have to say the underfloor heating was super! The log burner was fun despite the burn but not necessary. Smashing stay would 100 come again. We looked to rebook for Aug but was fully booked. Excellent property, well maintained
We had the most wonderful stay at Fontburn Farmhouse. What a beautiful property it is! The location is stunning and surrounded by lovely countryside walks especially the reservoir walk and play park. The house is perfectly equipped, all the things we could have needed were there. We were very grateful for the wonderful hamper of special foods for us. There is a lot of space. We were a group of 10, 6 adults and 4 young children. They loved having so much room to play and enjoy. The beds were ever so comfortable and it was amazing to open the curtains each day to the wildlife. We enjoyed a few clear skies too and the stars are spectacular. The owners couldn't do enough for us when we contacted them to extend our stay for one night. We were really impressed over all. We would absolutely come to Fontburn Farmhouse again.
A really lovely property, and Jess was more than helpful when we needed some advice. Cannot recommend her and the property enough
Hadleigh
Excellent property, fantastic location and would happily go again. House was well equipped and had everything we needed. Only slight issue was, it was a little hot for our liking in the kitchen area. It was our first time exploring this area of the UK but, om certain we'll be going again and would happily use this property again. Hadleigh
Jacqueline
Couldn't have been more perfect for our needs. The house and garden are spacious and wellequipped. Everything was in tiptop condition.
Elizabeth
An excellent property for a family gathering. It is very well equipped, has beautiful linen, and we had a great week helped by mainly very good weather. Having two separate lounge areas is good when there are different ages and interests in the group. The exterior photo on the website doesn't do the beauty of the site justice.
Shirley
The house was lovely but was a bit warm. It would have been helpful to have better instructions on where to find and how to work the thermostats.
Upon arrival we were most impressed as we turned into the property. As soon as you walk through the front door you cannot fail to be impressed. It is well laid out and a great space to share with friends or family but also offers the chance of the quiet space if you want a bit of privacy. The house is finished to a very high standard and all equipment and utensils were top quality. There was even a very nice welcome hamper which was very well received. We had deer in the garden on more than one occasion which was a pleasant surprise. Communication with Jess was 1st class and couldn't be better. Would strongly recommend!!
