Deer Leap Reviews

Lovely house in a great location. Property was very clean, warm and comfortable. Superbly equipped with everything we needed. Having a great pub just round the corner was a definite bonus. Would love to visit again.
We had a wonderful week at Deer Leap over Christmas. The house was extremely well equipped, with plenty of space and pots and pans to prepare a Christmas Lunch for all of us. The space was very social with a separate space for those who wanted a little bit of quiet. The beds were very comfortable and the whole place was spotless. The garden was secure, which was great for the dog and there was plenty of off road parking. Satterthwaite is very quiet and very pretty, with forest walks from the house. We were warmly welcomed at Church on Christmas morning and on a number of occasions at the fabulous local pub! We would definitely recommend both the village and the house itself.
This place was quite the hidden gem! ! A really lovely and spacious accommodation, excellently furnished and presented. Would strongly recommend to any big groups looking for a quiet lakes getaway.

What a great find! ! Loved Deer Leap! Beautiful location, gorgeous home, cosy log burner, pub a 2 min walk. What more do you need? This was the best holiday home weve stayed in and were already looking at booking again
A beautiful cottage that, as a previous review has mentioned, is better than the photos. We were a party of 6 plus baby and dog and the cottage layout was perfect. The bedrooms were beautiful and the mattresses were all really comfortable. The gorgeous kitchen is very well equipped with plenty of pots and pans and utensils. This is not always the case in rental cottages! There was a good selection of games and books to use too. The area is stunning with lots of walks and activities in Grizedale forest. There were a few small housekeeping niggles batteries not working in the tv remote controls, some lightbulbs out, but nothing that detracted from the enjoyment of our stay. Definitely one of the best cottages we have stayed in over the years. Would highly recommend.

Excellent accommodation, very comfortable and cosy. Everything has been thought of and is of a superb standard. The local pub is 200m from the door, the food is excellent, and good beer options. The accommodation is very local to numerous tourist attractions. We could not fault anything about or stay, thank you

Agree with previous reviewers pictures don't do this wonderful property full ... Agree with previous reviewers pictures don't do this wonderful property full justice The facilities are first class and the beds extremely comfortable Everything we needed for a wonderful holiday in the lakes Thank you

We stayed as a family of five plus our dog and had a fantastic time. The house is spacious, full of character, and very comfortable. There are plenty of lovely walks nearby and lots of activities within a 3040 minute drive. The onsite charger is also a great touch there arent many available in the Lake District, so it was really convenient. Thank you! It would be nice to have a BBQ in the outdoor area at the back of the garden otherwise this space feels a bit underused.
The property was exceptional, exceeding our expectations based on the listed photos. All facilities required for a comfortable stay were provided, rooms were very spacious and the large open space communal rooms helped us really enjoy our holiday.
We had a lovely stay here. A lot of people have mentioned this already but the photos really dont do the place justice. Its a luxury cottage with almost everything you need. We had our parents with us and the only thing they struggled with were the sofas. Very low and difficult to get in and out of. We had our toddler with us, so an air fryer would have been really useful to cook their food quickly rather than firing up the big oven. But overall this place was perfect. We will likely return.
Lovely place.
We had a lovely stay at Deer Leap. Great location, very quiet and peaceful and walking from the gate straight into Grizedale was perfect. The garden was fully secure for the dog. Very well equipped house, very relaxing stay and recommended! Thanks.
Lindsey
Deer Leap is a very comfortable, tastefully decorated and thoughtfully equipped house at the heart of the heart of this quiet village with good walks from the door into Grizedale forest. We enjoyed our stay, thank you, and were lucky enough to have good weather to enjoy the wonderful scenery of the Lakes. We left a note for the housekeeper regarding a couple of minor issues we noticed having been in residence for a week.
Debbie
We highly recommend this lovely property. It exceeded our expectations and made for a very comfortable stay. The house is spacious yet cosy and had everything we needed. We loved the tranquility of the village with fabulous walks in Grizedale on the doorstep. The village pub was a real bonus. We would definitively return to Deerleap in the future.
Alison
The cottage far exceeded our expectations. It was far larger and more luxuriously appointed than the online photos demonstrated and the grounds were extensive which was helpful with a dog. Lots of walks from the doorstep into Grizedale forest meant that we didnt have to use the car to explore and there was a pub and tearoom in the village. The property was lovely and warm and we had a very relaxing family break over the weekend. I would highly recommend Deer Leap.
Sandra
The photos do not do the property justice. It is absolutely beautiful.
Lovely stay at a beautiful house.
Fabulous! Youve thought of everything including a drying room very useful in The Lakes. Very spacious, great bedrooms and a huge kitchendinerlounge.
We had a wonderful holiday. Deer Leap is a luxurious holiday home in a peaceful and beautiful location. It is very well equipped and comfortable and the only slight issue we had was dealt with very promptly by the owners. The garden was much better than we expected as it wasnt clear from the details that there was much of a garden but it was lovely with plenty of seating.
Fantastic cottage in a lovely remote village. The cottage is decorated and furnished to a very high standard. Kitchen very well equipped with all you will need. Bedrooms all well furnished with very comfortable mattresses. EV charger was a real bonus and really easy to use. All in all, a great property and would definitely recommend for a stay in the Lakes.
Elaine
A great property in a tranquil location, within easy driving distance of lakeside attractions. The house is lovely inside and out and a great spacious driveway and a few seating areas to enjoy the peace and quiet. Really enjoyed our visit and the property was everything we could have hoped for spacious, comfortable, beautiful inside, spotlessly clean and well stocked.
