From the moment we arrived, everything was just perfect. The instructions were detailed and the property was extremely clean. There was ample parking and the little extras bubbles and dog biscuits and toy were a lovely touch. All of our party 10 people agreed that the beds were so comfortable day 1 proved this with most of our party sleeping in very late! The showers were very powerful and there were enough bathrooms for everyone to enjoy their own space! The games room was very well received for our teens and older members alike! We had an amazing time at Penny Bridge House. Everything was perfect. Beds were so comfy we checked the labels on the bedding & on the way home my son bought the quilt & pillows ! House was lovely clean, warm, & great power showers. Perfect for a large group. Lovely garden.

This is a perfect getaway for friends and family to meet up from across the country, Superb facilities and plenty of space for all to enjoy. Perfect location too for days out in the Lake District. With a large secure garden at the rear the house is very well suited for dogs. Ample gated private parking area.at the rear of the house, and a nice welcome pack waiting for us on arrival was a nice touch. Lets just say everything is well thought out to make your stay extra special.

What an amazing house with all the rooms and bathrooms being well sized and nicely decorated. We had the most wonderful week and the best family Christmas ever. The kitchendining area was a special place for the big Christmas Eve and day dinners and had all the accessories. Nearby was the games room being our breakaway entertainment corner for old and young. The two lounges with Christmas trees lovely touch were great and helped with one of the biggest collections of presents I have ever seen. Two TVs and a good log burner to chill out and relax. As a family holiday, we could not have asked for more. We had the best time and will certainly be back. We loved it.

Had a wonderful week at Penny Bridge House. Plenty of space for a party of 10. Comfortable, well equipped and super clean. Lots to do in the area. Owner was available for any issues. The driveway is pretty tight to access if you have a large car. That is the only thing we needed to be aware of.

This was a great house for our group of 3 families. Plenty of space for us all to be together and the two living rooms and games room meant the teenagers and parents could have their own socialising space too. We were also lucky enough with the weather one night to be able to sit outside for dinner. The owners provide a comprehensive guide book for the house and local area which was helpful. The house was very clean and decorated to a high standard. Overall it worked really well for our group and wed happily come back again.

Excellent house and location but two minor annoyances. Firstly, a 10am check out is too early. If you are renting a house of that size there will naturally be a lot of people, likely a lot of kids, and therefore a lot of tidying, organising and packing to do. What an amazing stay we had in such a beautiful house. There was a welcome pack waiting for us on our arrival which was a lovely gesture from the owners. The house was very clean and comfortable with plenty of space to relax in. In each living room there was a large TV which meant there were no arguments about what to watch on Xmas day! The games room provided hours of entertainment, and unlike many houses we have stayed in, it was warm and comfortable. The beds and duvets were very snuggly, perfect for lazing in and reading a good book. The garden was dog friendly, with little chance of our enthusiastic springer escaping! There are different levels in the house, but our 87 and 82 year old mothers coped pretty well. We would highly recommend this property and we are looking forward to visiting again next year

Penny Bridge House is a beautiful house and full of stunning character and incredibly quirky. I would highly recommend the house as a great location with some small local shops and beautiful pub Britannia Inn. Ulverston is only a 5 min drive and a lovely little town with lots to do including walks. Thanks to the owners of Penny Bridge House for a fantastic 4 nights away with 12 of us for a family 50th Wedding Anniversary.

Brilliant stay with friends for a 30th birthday. The house was in immaculate condition, with a welcome basket for us and the dog! Lovely, comfortable rooms and bathrooms. The first floor sitting room was great for an evening hang out with access to the garden too. The garden was secure for the dog and there was plenty of parking. Neighbours are quite close by so you have to be mindful of those going in the garden in the evening and noise. We didnt explore the immediate local area, but we did take a trip to Scafell pike and completed a circular walk from Elterwater highly reccommend which were both easy enough to get to from Penny Bridge. If we come to the lakes again we would 100 stay at Penny Bridge again.

The house had everything you could think of and it was very thoughtful with the provision of a welcome hamper to include dog treats etc. We all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, lots of secured outdoor space for the dog to run round in as well as a fab games room too. A lovely quirky clean house. Well equipped great kitchen and dining room.. the games room was good for all. Two comfy lounges, great garden for the dogs and children. Good choice of bedrooms. The Britannia pub a few doors down has friendly staff and allows dogs. I would recommend booking it serves great food Thursday Friday Saturday and Sunday shuts Monday and Tuesday drinks only on a Wednesday.

We loved our stay at Penny Bridge House. It's a big old house with wonky staircases, but it was exceptionally clean and very well equipped. The back garden and parking were great. Windermere and Coniston lakes are only 20 minutes drive away, and it's a good base for touring round the rest of the Lake District. Recommended.

A wonderful base for a big family get together, this beautiful property exceeded all expectations and made the weekend a memorable one. The layout and decor made it feel very special and the comfy beds were appreciated by all! The facilities were second to none, my brother in law a professional chef fell in love with the kitchen and prepared some amazing meals during our stay there. The games room was also a big hit with the younger ones, giving us all space to break out comfortably into the communal rooms. A truly wonderful property, I would have no hesitation in recommending it as a place to make special memories...thank you!!

Absolutely loved our stay, kitchen was extremely well equipped, bathrooms were stunning with an amazing bath and showers. The garden area was vast and stunning, with lots of outdoor facilities, we did have to clean the bbq before we used it though which isn't the end of the world. The area is beautiful and local for lovely days out. My only complaint and the reason I didn't give 5 stars is that the house is not really suitable for 4 couples plus the twins, two of the doubles are extremely small and the beds were just too small you could not fit two people comfortably in them at all. The two kingsize rooms were amazing for the couples that stayed in them one with a beautiful ensuite. The hosts were very efficient and responded to our two queries immediately. What a wonderful house, very comfortable, lots of space for a mixed generation family group and a couple of dogs. We really appreciated the attention to detail, very well equipped kitchen. Decorated and furnished beautifully throughout. Great garden and own parking all good.
