Pen-y-Ghent, Kirkby Lonsdale

Impressive house on arrival, in a great, central location. We love Kirkby for the yorkshire feel, shops, pubs and cafes and we live close by. House was extremely clean and tastefully decorated. Rooms are spacious and lots of bathrooms for all the family. Outdoor area neat and tidy and hot tub was fantastic. Quiet, peaceful house. Only thing was sparsely stocked, a few more cleaning items, bin bags, kitchen towel etc. Possibly a little welcome pack? Chipped cups but apart from that a really wonderful stay, thank you

A perfect weekend with friends in a lovely property! Only one negative if youre in a bedroom to the front of the property, the security light illuminates the bedrooms through the slatted blinds at night.

Great stay at the house, exceptional clean, lovely decor, warm and cosy. Stones throw from all the shops and pubs, lots of parking, great coat and boot storage Just a few helpful suggestions An additional set of cups, dont want to hand wash cups after every single drink if there is a group of 8 Some pint glasses. Adjustments to the sensor light about the garage just flicking on and off constantly all through the night

This deserves 10 stars! We had multiple birthday celebrations all over 1 weekend 1 80th, 3 50ths and an 18th and so booked Pen Y Ghent and Ingleborough for all 16 people, and a dog, to stay in. With ages ranging from 17 to 85, we had trouble finding suitable accomodation for everyone but these 2 houses fitted the bill perfectly. Right next to each other, excellent location, hot tubs, plenty of space, they ticked everybox for us. Both properties are truely stunning, exceptionally well furnished and immactulately presented. It takes a lot to stop the mother in law talking, but when she first walked in she was silenced and walked around with her jaw open admiring it all. This alone was worth it! The kitchen has a vast array of equipment, utensils, plates and crockery and with such huge dining table, we could all eat and drink together. The younger ones in the group, enjoyed the guge tv and the fast wifi and comfortable sofas in the front rooms. Everyone commented on the excellent bedrooms, noting expecially how comfortable the beds were. Those with an ensuite room found the walkin showers very handy, especially the 85 year old Father in law who does have some reduced mobility. The location is perfect for a 2 minute stoll into the town of Kirky Lonsdale and all its shops and pubs, and about a 10 minute walk to Devils bridge with the excellent butty van. We have stayed in multiple holiday cottages over the last 10 years and genuinely, these 2 properties are right at the top of the list for quality, location, facilities and enjoyment. Don't even hesitate to book either property, you will not regret it.

We stayed over christmas. The 2 christmas trees gave a lovely christmassy feel to the place. Handy for the town and local supermarket. Plenty of space for everyone. We just used the hot tub once, and it was very clean and warm. Nice and quiet area. Very enjoyable stay.

This was the most beautiful house we have ever stayed in and we have already booked for next year as it was such a great weekend.

Booked through Skyes Cottages and had plenty of emails and timely updates and reminders, no hassle at all. Arrival and entry really easy. The property is beautiful and exactly as shown, probably bigger than photos. The bedrooms and bathrooms are huge with so much storage throughout. Everything worked perfectly. Only thing we could have done with is a few trays for oven and non stick pans. Considering this could house 8 adults we were 4adults 2children you could struggle to get meals out at same time. Just basic flat trays and frying pans would have helped. Things I couldnt see listed are the music dock, Washing products welcome kit, cloth liquid, tablets bin bags etc I took everything myself but that helped. Also 1 large and 1 small towel per person provided. Each bathroomtoilet had 2 toilet rolls 8 total There were also 2 tea towels and oven gloves. Things we took extra that came in handy were extra dish washer tablets, extra bin bags, kitchen roll, alcohol measure. Tip ordered food online with Asda to arrive between 330430 on our first day! Worked out brilliantly! We bought plenty local products and gifts while there but this meant we could save space in cars and everything was fresh and still frozen ice, freezer food etc Would definitely recommend and definitely re book. Hot tub was a lovely temperature and really clean. Thank you for a wonderful New Year.

We were a party of 7 ladies & PenyGhent was exactly what we needed. Plenty of room, very clean & comfortable with an added bonus of a hot tub. Also, good private parking. It's just a short walk into the village where there are lovely shops, cafes & pubs. We liked the property so much that we have already booked for next year ! Nothing to dislike about this property.

On first impression the house was stunning, Large spacious and clean, we had a great week and enjoyed the space and comfort the house offered. Would have loved a nest of tables or similar in the living room for drinks but that would be our only extra need. plenty of parking too!

The house is lovely,modern and beautifully appointed. It was spotlessly clean and had everything you would need for a family get together.We did have an issue with the hot tub not working properly,which was disappointing,however owner Rob did his best to sort for us,but needed a new part which was fitted day before we left.Despite that we all enjoyed our stay and would be happy to return.

Absolutely loved it! Booked PenYGhent house for a weekend away with some friends for my 21st and I cannot fault it. The house itself was gorgeous, it was clean and tidy, had everything we needed and was a lovely location. I will be booking again to bring my family. Thank you for the best weekend!

We have stayed in quite a few rentals over the past 10 years and this house was the very best. Totally immaculate all round. Very spacious, beautifully decorated and furnished. Beds were super comfortable. Everything you would need for a holiday,. Lovely enclosed garden, our dogs loved it. Close walking distance to village, pubs, shops etc.

Hi we had a lovely break in your lovely house we were celebrating our Diamond Wedding Anniversary with our family. The beds and duvets were fantastic, and lots of crockery and cutlery etc. The hotbtub was super. Roll on our next Sykes holiday. Joan.

A beautiful house very close to supermarket and town. This is an excellent place to stay for family and friends. The house is spotlessly clean and has everything you would need. The rooms are spacious. The house has a lovely sitting area and hot tub. The garden is sealed off from neighbours by wallfence and gates so safe for children and pet. We will definitely be back . We had a fabulous weekend.

Instructions were provided for everything except for the hot tub which would have been useful. Limited utensils for cooking e.g.wooden spoons & whisk. A barbecue would have been nice too!. Saying that the property was excellent and very clean & comfortable and ideally located.

We really liked the house and have had a lovely holiday. It was very clean and tidy with plenty of space. Loved having large beds and ensuites.

We love PenyGhent! Beautiful property, lovely and spacious and very clean, this is the second time weve been as we loved it the first time! Its in a fab location, just a short walk down into the lovely village of Kirkby Lonsdale. My only constructive feedback would be perhaps invest in a comfier sofa! The house is beautifully furnished and beds are really comfy, I just feel that the sofa is lacking in the same quality. Not overly comfy or deep which is exactly what you want after a long day walking shopping in the pubs!

Mainly just a thankyou, the place was fantastic. The finsish is to a very high standard and you can tell a lot of thought has gone into it. Everything we needed was there which made the stay even more fantastic. Kirby Lonsdale is a great place to visit, loads of things to do and great pubs to visit. Overall, a great stay! Thankyou

We booked this property for a family weekend away with our adult children, partners and our 2 grandchildren aged 4 and 6 months. The house is very spacious, and well equipped. The 3 en suite bedrooms were exceptional. The 4th bedroom has a very large separate bathroom with freestanding bath and separate shower cubicle.Toiletries were also provided in the bathrooms. The outside space and hot tub was great. The location of the property is within a couple of minutes walk into Kirkby Lonsdale which has a good choice of restaurants, pubs, local walks and recreation areas. The owner if the property is very easy to contact and quickly responds to any questions or queries. Our family as a whole commented that this was the best accommodation we have stayed in both for the property itself and local amenities.

We had a lovely weekend at Pen y Ghent house. Perfectly situated for shops bars and restaurants in Kirby Lonsdale and walks down the lune and beyond. Sinking into the hot tub after a long day out was just perfect. The house is beautifully appointed with very comfortable beds, furnishings and a very well equipped kitchen .Our host was quick to respond to a query and nothing was to much trouble. We will return.

What a stunning house. It is even better than the amazing pictures. We had a fantastic time, the decor and everything was to such a high standard. It was lovely spending time in the hot tub too. Beautiful property, very spacious, with gorgeous ensuite bedrooms, all exactly as described Lovely addition of the hot tub, fab outside space The addition of a clothes airer would save energy if included, & a better none stick frying pan would be nice to have, but are minor details. Would definately recommend, as we had a wonderful week , thankyou so much.

We booked PenyGhent for a friends gettogether, we are 7 mature ladies. We were pleased to know all the beds could be separated and made into single beds. Its a fabulous house, really modern and luxurious, the bathrooms are amazing. The house has everything you might need. The location is great, just around the corner from the supermarket, and only a short walk into the town centre which has lots of nice cafes, pubs and restaurants to choose from. We all enjoyed the hot tub too. Kirby Lonsdale is so picturesque, we took walks to enjoy the lovely countryside, and especially to the magnificent Devils Bridge and along the riverside. We will be booking again.

Wonderful property and just as described, great space and perfect for our xmas getaway. LOVED the hot tub. Only thing would recommend is getting a bigger fridge and a few more things for the kitchen to serve food on as its generally going to be a big group staying, we didnt have much space to store things to be kept cold or serve on. These are very minor though and not a complaint at all as the house was perfect for us!
