After dinner, cosy up by the open fire in the lounge, where you can watch TV, listen to music and plan your next day’s adventures. When it’s time for bed, there are four restful rooms to choose from: two doubles – one with an en-suite – and two twins. Two additional bathrooms ensure comfort and convenience for everyone. Your living space extends outdoors, where the enclosed garden features a decking area. Drink in those fine sea views as you dine alfresco – a BBQ is provided. Shop for essentials in the fishing village of Caherdaniel, 2 miles away, or join the Ring of Kerry to explore further afield – one of the Emerald Isle’s bucket-list destinations, the route offers the opportunity to see Ireland at its wildest. If you’re lured by those sea views on your doorstep, dune-backed Derrynane Beach is a crescent of white sand overlooking Abbey Island, where there’s an ancient burial ground and ruins of a long-forgotten medieval church. The beach is ideal for water sports and walks, while nearby Derrynane House was the childhood home of politician Daniel O'Connell and is also the location of an ancient Ogham Stone – the earliest form of writing in Ireland, dating back to the 4th century. Island View Reviews

Diana
House set in beautiful surroundings We had a lot of fog/mist over the sea in October which lifted at times to give great views over the sea. Once we left and went up or down the road the mist slowly disappeared. It was a cosy, roomy house with comfortable beds and well appointed kitchen etc. It's also part of the dark sky area.  It's close to Derrynane beach, which was beautiful and has a graveyard on a hill which is seemingly an island.  Kenmare is about an hour from here and as we had a storm we enjoyed many waterfalls all over the area.  Also you can travel to county cork and see some of the scenery there. We left about 10 every morning and spent the day wandering all over. So plenty to see and had a lovely meal in a nearby pub, The Blind Piper. Quite happy to recommend this house and itâ??s helpful owner Blaise.
