Butterfly Cottage Reviews

Gillian
Had a lovely stay at Butterfly cottage, quiet location, very clean and comfortable and had everything we needed for four of us, for a long stay. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting to explore this area. Easy walking distance into the town centre, with good restaurants, cafes & shops. Direct buses to Manchester and local steam train railway line also within walking distance.
Stephanie
Well equipped large dwelling, with lovely quality clean bedding and towels, along with washing machine and most other kitchen essentials, except a dishwasher, which for large groups would be preferred over tumble dryer. Big issue in bathrooms, with literally nowhere to hang a towel, gown, toilet roll, along with not a single wall mirror throughout home. Also lacking coat hooks, so definite need for more storage, especially with staying a week. The same in the kitchen, no real space to store food, other than large integrated fridge freezer. We ideally wanted a more rural cottage, with more garden, as this had large shared carpark with very high small garden other side, not ideal for younger children and again shared. Despite the obvious history of the building, there is no original features and work hasn't been carried out to a particularly high standard, though all very clean. I feel this is better suited for few days as base, or for groups of adults as easily walkable into Rawtenstall, which has a full array of food and drinking options, along with loads of supermarkets and shops. We enjoyed our week there, had amazing weather and explored a fabulous part of the country, but not quite what we are used to, and happily admit to that partly my own fault in not researching better. Annette a lovely chatty and friendly lady x
Harriet
We loved butterfly cottage. It was a great location. We went to Foody Friday at Rawtenstall market which was great fun. Also did a great walk from the Whitaker Art Gallery up to the Halo sculpture.
Pauline
