Low Graythwaite Hall Reviews

We try and have a family holiday in the Lakes in October. Low Graythwaite offers plenty of space for the 3 generations of our family. The Hall and dairy offer lots of room. The hall is very quirky.. A good location to explore the Lakes. A warm and cosy house. Areas of the house are a little tired and need a bit of TLC?
The door handles on the fire doors are extremely difficult to turn. Apart from that the accommodation was perfect.
Overall, the place was brilliant. It accommodated us all comfortably with plenty of room for people to find space when they needed it. The bath robes were a nice touch. A shower rather than bath in the shared bathroom would have been nice, but people ended up using each other's bathrooms when they wanted a shower. There was plenty of hot water at all times. The kitchen had enough of the things we needed, and it was great to have multiple kettles and coffeee makers. There was a lovely selection of very nice things in the welcome basket, which were much appreciated. The estate ofice was very helpful when we had any problems and responded very quickly. All in all everyone had a great holiday. There are some minor things that could be better BBQ tools would be nice and some of the kitchen utensils are a bit worn, but not unusable. The only real issue we had was opening the doors. The door handles were stiff and because of the shape they were very dfficult to turn and the doors are very heavy. Several of us could not open the doors at all.
Absolutely loved it. Would highly recommend and would love to go back again in the future. Stunning property with lawns, bbq, pool, large kitchen & lovely rooms. Near lake windermere so great walks, paddleboarding etc.
The house was perfect for our large family gathering. The rooms were beautiful especially the lounges where we sat with amazing lit fires and a glass of wine or two. The grounds were equally beautiful. An added bonus of use of the swimming pool nearby and a fun wood heated hot tub. The estate staff were so helpful and made us feel so welcome. An absolute gem and we can highly recommend.
Valerie
Wonderful old house. Plenty of room for us all and bedrooms and bathrooms were fabulous. Vanessa who looks after the house and guests was the star of the show. She has a lovely way with everyone and nothing was too much trouble For her. Any request was dealt with quickly and Efficiently. Good location for visiting different towns in the Lakes
