Changing Tide Reviews

Changing Tides is in an excellent location just across the road from the shingle beach and a short walk to the harbour and large sandy bay. The village is about a 20 minute walk away but 'The Landings' bar is only 5 minutes down the road. The house was spacious and warm. The layout was very good, we particularly liked the first floor lounge with views out to sea. The back garden and patio were great for sitting out and games even in October! The only fault was with the freezer which badly needed defrosting! The welcome 'goodies' were very much appreciated.
We really enjoyed our stay at Changing Tide. The house is well equipped and worked well for our group. Location is good for coastal path walking.
As a family, we have now stayed at Changing Tides 7 times and never fail to have a great time. Its location is superb, being close to the beach, harbour and rocks. All within easy level walking distance. The welcome pack was much appreciated. We have already booked for next year. Dennis family

Fabulous holiday home for our family of 5 adults and 2 children. Our second stay here and would like to stay in the future. Ideal for us. Very comfortable and well equiped kitchen. Well maintained , clean. Great that it has a no dog policy too.
Catherine
A wonderful house, fully equipped with everything we needed. It was really comfortable and decorated nicely. There was one broken slat under one of the single beds which didnt affect the comfort as we had a small child sleeping on it but could be fixed. We have booked to come again and cannot wait, we have definitely made a good choice.
The whole experience was magnificent. The location was central to everything we wanted to see and places we wanted to explore. With the addition of plenty of private parking! The house was beautiful and was immaculately maintained. The upstairs lounge was ideal for our three generations. The welcome pack was delicious and very kind of the owners to leave for us. The leaflets left for us were really helpful as well. We would love to make a return visit as soon as possible as one week is just not enough time to explore all this part of Northumberland has to offer. Thanks you for an amazing family holiday. The Searles.
Louise
Fabulous location, very spacious, lovely property for a family holiday
A great holiday home with loads of space and well equipped and maintained. The views are great and the location was really good for what we wanted to do. Spot on.
Sandra
Our second stay at Changing Tides. Excellent accommodation in a beautiful setting, near to the beach and rock pools. Great for a larger family group, with plenty of amenities within the property, including a downstairs bathroom which was great for showering the kids after a day in the beach. Lovely welcome pack on arrival too. An enjoyable relaxing stay for the whole family in a beautiful part of the country.
It was a great property for our family, bedrooms were really comfortable, sitting rooms were fab, especially the upstairs one with a lovely view of the sea. The kitchen was well equipped with everything you could need. The washing machine was very handy too. I would certainly recommend changing tide and we'll probably be back next year. The location is excellent and Beadnell bay not only a gorgeous beach but close to so many other places.
This was our third stay at Changing Tide and will certainly not be our last. As always, the house was immaculate and felt like a home from home. It is beautifully situated, so quiet and peaceful, and extremely well furnished and supplied in terms of bedding, towels, kitchen equipment etc. We can't wait to visit again! The Seymours and Robinsons from Aberdeen and Bradford.
Great location, perfect house for 6 to 8 people. Excellently equipped. We did feel the main bedroom would benefit from curtains. Thank you Sue

Thank you we had a wonderful stay the property suited our familyholiday needs perfectly and we hope to be back. In terms of feedback about the property and its comfort, I don't think we have anything to add except that it took us a long time to work out where the cutlery went in the dishwasher lol. We'll know next time....
We had a mixture of weather during our week in Beadnell. Returning to Changing tide made it easier to clean up and dry out! We did have lovely weather too!! The cottage is spacious for 6 adults. There are plenty of bathrooms and spacious bedrooms. My husband and I got used to the tiny ensuite in the largest bedroom! The lounge is comfortable and we enjoyed watching the sea and sunsets from the comfort of this room. The kitchen was well equipped and we enjoyed sitting around the lovely dining table. Thank you to owners dad for replacing tap in kitchen! It was lovely to meet him! The beaches are outstanding in this part of the world, especially Ross Sands! The cottage is within walking distance of 2 good pubs Craster Arms and The Landing! Both with table service! And plenty of parking for 3 cars! In general, a good location, beautiful house and great service from host, and thank you to cleaners.
Such a well equipped and spacious property. Lovely location. Lots of parking space for our cars. Garden secure for young children. Beds comfy 4bathrooms were really good.upstairs lounge light airy good view.Changing Tide was ideal for our family holiday. Would recommend this property for families and friends
Excellent property which is extremely spacious and comfortable. It has everything you need for a pleasant stay. It is ideally situated to visit many parts of the region easily. We were a group of friends from different areas and everyone had a thegood break.
Louise
First time staying in this house, have been to this area many times. Fabulous house, great location , absolutely loved it. Only slight criticism, was the main bedroom blind, didnt really stop the day light, but other than that it was fantastic. So much so I will be booking again soon .. Thank you . If you find a duck raincoat in the property its my grandsons, if you could save it till next year for me
This was our first visit to Northumberland and we very much enjoyed the area. The location and the house were excellent for a family holiday which included two young granddaughters aged 9 and 6. They thought the location was the best as they had rockpools and beach literally 5 minutes away.. One minor point. It would have been useful to have had some instructions as to how to adjust the heating using the control on the wall.
Esther
Changing Tide is a spacious property in a great location, ideal for accessing the amazing beach and only a short distance from a number of local attractions. This is probably the best equipped holiday home that we have stayed at and somewhere that we would definitely return to when we visit the North East again.
Brenda
Amazing location. We had a fabulous time at changing tide. Gorgeous house decorated lovely . Thankyou so much . Highly recommended x
Stephen
Second visit, first with friends, second with family. Great accommodation, beautiful house with plenty of space and exceedingly well equipped. Location is perfect for great holidays.
We stayed at Changing Tides as a group of 7 for a family Christmas. 3 couples and a 9 year old. The property had a fantastic amount of space. The upstairs lounge was a brilliant size with gorgeous views of the sea. The dining room and dining table were also really big and easily accommodated us all for Christmas dinner. Lots of lovely Christmas decorations. The house was lovely and clean. Very handy having the extra downstairs sitting room too. We also noticed that noise didnt carry through the house which is really helpful with all the different bed times! Amazing location for walks on the stunning beach. Lovely welcome hamper left for us. This is definitely one of the best holiday cottages Ive stayed in and I have stayed in a great deal over the years. Would very much recommend and would be happy to return.
Stephen
This is a beautiful house in a lovely position and is equipped to a very high standard. It is a pleasure to stay there and we hope to return next year
Catherine
Amazing holiday home. Ideal location. Very short walk to the beaches or harbour. Lots of space for our family of grandparents, children and grandchildren. We loved the views from upstairs lounge. Well equiped large kitchen with plenty fridge space for our family group.Enjoyed sharing meals in large dining room. Very comfortable beds.We had everything we needed for a perfect family holiday. Thank you.
The property is in great location in Beadnell and the layout is perfect for larger groups. The house is very well equipped with kitchen items and the welcome basket of tea, biscuits and local honey was a lovely touch. A couple of big downsides though, the house could do with a proper deep clean. The carpets are looking v tired and grubby and very stained in areas particularly near walls. I am not sure the owners used professional cleaners as we found some items were rusty sieve or unfit for purpose cafetire We wanted to use the hoover and when we found it the dust cylinder was full!! Not nice for a guest to see contents of dust and hair. Another thing that would put us off coming back were the 10 or so typedlaminated DO NOT notices which are EVERYWHERE. It was like having a everpresent wagging finger in every room. Please remove shoes before going upstairs stuck on wall at bottom of stairs by another note saying rinse sand off feet with outside tap before showering Please do not place anything on the fireplace as it may stain the natural stone Ensure that all crockery and pans you have used are clean and ready for use by the next guests. A note in boiler cupboard saying do not touch the controls so youd have no chance to boost the heating if you were cold. If you have used the outside clothes line return the pegs in the peg bag and the clothes basket to the cupboard in the utility room, and retract the line If you have used the barbecue clean it ready for use again. Cleaning tools and materials for this are under the sink in the utility room. Please do not lean on the washing machine door as it has needed to be repaired several times. we hope that you get weather for a BBQ, but could we ask that you clean it after use. I wouldnt mind, but we had paid good money for this property 2000 for seven nights and being the owner of an Airbnb property myself. I know that you do not place the onus of cleaning on prior guests. More notices PLEASE DO NOT CHARGE ANY ELECTRIC VEHICLES AT THIS PROPERTY Can I please draw your attention to the work top itis not granite but it does need protection from sharp knives and hot dishes and pans. PLEASE use chopping boards and trivets provided at all times. Honestly it was endless. Ive never seen anything so unwelcoming! I understand how precious houses are to owners and you should expect houses to be treated respectfully but it was completely OTT. The garden has a strange metal fence all round, like being in a container. We had a great week but Id imagine there are more welcoming places to stay in Beadnell.
We are 3 couples holidaying for a week so need parking for 3 cars Changing Tides provides ample. The communal spaces are generous, smart and clean. The upstairs lounge has a wonderful view and is very relaxing. The bedrooms are of good size, 2 with ensuites although the master bedroom ensuite is disappointedly small. However the family bathroom is a good size and theres a bath and a further toilet on the ground floor. The back garden is also a good size, although the neighbours look out onto it from one window downstairs as originally it must have been 1 long dwelling, and later divided into 2 properties. Its location is ideal. Its quiet but within walking distance of the well stocked village shop , The Landing a very friendly small drinking and eating establishment, and tiny village centre consisting of a pub, hotel and a church. Northumberland is a beautiful and largely untouched part of the world. I would certainly return to the area again and stay at Changing Tide. I was so sorry to leave it.
Lovely house, beautiful view from living room, very well equipped we were lucky ... Lovely house, beautiful view from living room, very well equipped we were lucky enough with weather to be able to have a great barbecue hot water tap needed some attention
What a fantastic visit we had to Beadnell, and all started with arrival to a really great property. Nothing we wanted was missing, the upstairs lounge in particular was a brilliant place to sit and relax after a long day out. Beds very comfortable. We were a group celebrating 50 years from meeting at College, and would totally recommend the property to other groups or families.
Richard
A beautiful home in a gorgeous location. Attention needed to kitchen mixer tap which drips hot water constantly. Quite costly probably. Eight happy guests. Thank you for the thoughtful welcoming basket of basic provisions.
Beverley
This is a wonderful property. We had a great stay. Well equipped and very comfortable. I would agree with the other review about the bbq. I dont think its been used for a while however the outside furniture is great and so are the views. We will be back.
All the family loved cottage, great location very clean, and well equipped. Only problem we found Barbacue, was not clean ,and there was no gas.
Had a wonderful stay with my sisters and nieces. There was lots of room to spread out as well as a great sized table for meals and games. Have already booked for next year.
Sarah garet
Excellent property, clean, comfortable and spacious. Well equipped with crockery, cutlery, pans and glass wear. Plenty of fridge and freezer space not alway the case in some holiday lets. Comfortable beds with good pillows. Plenty of good towels. Beadnell is a lovely place with a well stocked general store and 2 excellent pubs hotel serving very good food. Lots of beach walks in the area, sandy beach with water sports or bathing weather permitting. We will definitely return . Thank you
5th stay at this property. Ideal location for families with children. Very close to the beach, harbour for catching crabs
Fabulous house in a great location. The photos online do not do this justice. The house is in a perfect location with sea views and close to the beach. The house is lovely inside with a wow factor upstairs living room with sea view and back garden with bar b q and fire pit. 1010
