Armstrong Cottages No30 Reviews

We absolutely loved our stay at no30. Armstrong Cottages! The cottage was spotless and had everything we needed for our stay. The downstairs single bed mattresses could have been more comfortable but it was manageable for the week! The location was perfect. We will definitely be coming back and highly recommend for anyone visiting Northumberland. Thank you!
It was like home from home. We enjoyed staying for the week and the beach is beautiful and we all loved the accommodation and woukd book again.
Lovely place to stay beds could do with an upgrade mattress not very comfortable
Have stayed previously at 30 Armstrong Cottages however given the price now ... Have stayed previously at 30 Armstrong Cottages however given the price now charged by the owner the comfort of the beds and settees in the lounge is not very good
A lovely comfortable cottage on the outskirts of Bamburgh and an easy walk to the sand dunes and sea. The modern kitchen has everything you need, and the lounge and beds very comfortable. The little enclosed garden is perfect for a dog and for sitting outside in the sunshine A perfect break, thankyou
We had an amazing stay. The downstairs layout was perfect for family time. The location of Armstrong cottage was perfect and an easy walk in to Bamburgh and to the beach. The kitchen was well equipped. A fabulous place to stay cant wait to return.
Andrew
Beautiful property in excellent location. ..close to beach and Bamburgh. We stayed with our daughter, soninlaw and 3 young grand daughters. The property is very well maintained and equipped. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. Couldn't believe how huge the interior is ..so deceptive from the outside! We enjoyed the secluded, well maintained garden. Two small issues On arrival, the vacuum cleaner wouldn't suck and stank of 'old dog'. On inspection, the filter was clogged and up obviously hadn't been cleaned out in a very long time. The foot wasn't rotating as it was jammed with debris. However, we sorted this out and it worked ok after. The second problem we experienced was in the fact that the adjoining property is being renovated. We had a couple of days with noise...banging, drilling etc.. all day into the evening. On one day, the banging went on until, at 11.15 pm, I knocked on the door and politely asked if they could stop, as the children had been woken up with the noise. The owners were most apologetic they were installing a new kitchen and had lost sight of the time. However, this did not spoil our holiday...was just a bit annoying. Overall, we've had a lovely holiday. Thankyou.
We had a really lovely family holiday. Quite frankly everything was fantastic. The only point we would make is to make it clearer to holidaymakers to put the bins out. They were both nearly full when we arrived as obviously the last occupants had not done this. We did put out the one bin required in our stay but the recycling bin was completely full when we left as it had not been emptied the previous week. Overall a fantastic experience.
Michael
Beautiful property, felt lovely and homely to be in for the week. We didnt want to leave.
The cottage was very special, with bags of room, the huge ammount of DVD's was great for lazy evenings after walking the beach all day, which was right on the doorstep.
Wonderful house! So comfortable and well set out. Excellent equipment in the kitchen. A lovely week. There is no door for the kitchen but blankets are provided to put on the settees which I was a great idea as we we tried barricading the dogs in the kitchen at night and it didn't work. We then put chairs on the settees that worked!
Barbara
House freezing cold on arrival, did not get warm until the day after as storage heaters set as low as possible, not a good start to the holiday or a welcome one ,worked for 2 days then heating went off again phoned Sykes maintenance came and fetched 2 oil filled radiators one worked the other barely got warm , had to go out and buy logs not even any kindling in the house to light a fire a basket full of papers tho ,its a shame as the house is in a lovely part of Bamburgh and quiet apart from that we enjoyed our holiday .
This is our second stay and again we absolutely loved it. Its a very comfortable cottage, the new bathrooms are great. We cant wait to come back. Many thanks
A beauitful spacious cottage, that we very quickly felt comfortable in. Fully equiped kitchen with every pot, pan, utensil you need. The bedrooms were comfortable and everyone reported a good nights sleep. The bathrooms are excellent. The garden was perfect for our dog, she enjoyed many a sunny day out there. Only negative, on arrival we could not find the cottage handbook which caused some frustration because we had no idea how to open the back doors, wifi wifi is important as there is no mobile phone reception etc it was only by chance I found it under a bag of kindling and newspapers by the fireplace. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and would have loved to book again for next year but it is already fully booked for 2025.
Great cottage in a great location. It was clean and well equipped and had everything we needed. We stayed here years ago and it has been updated since then with new bathrooms and kitchen. The space is great for families to share. The only issue we had was we couldnt find a clothes horse anywhere which was a pain when doing washing and it was rainy outside. Eventually found it under one of the kids beds, but only by chance when looking for a lost teddy! Overall a great stay and Im sure well be back.
A lovely cottage, well maintained and equipped, only a short distance from a lovely beach about quarter of a mile, across the road and sand dunes.
Another excellent stay at Armstrong cottages. Special thanks to Gillian and Clare who found my husbands watch on the bedding. Their diligence was appreciated
We had a lovely stay we will definitely return
Superb location next to dunes with very short walk to beautiful beach. Ideal for dog walkers. Accommodation could not be better we have rented several Sykes properties this was the best
Katherine
Lovely cottage very spacious and comfortable. Just a sort stroll to the castle, beach and village. Had a small problem with the heating system but this was sorted extremely promptly. Just missed a few little things such as kitchen equipment when cooking for a large family. Would certainly stay again.
Christine
This is the third year we have stayed in this delightful well situated cottage and we have loved our holidays there. Unfortunately the capacity is being reduced for the next booking season so, as a family of ten, we will have to look elsewhere, I would recommend this cottage to anyone who would love to see this beautiful area at it's best.
Very spacious property in a great location for exploring the beauty of Northumberland. 10 mins walk from Bamburgh village and of course the magnificent castle. A short walk though sand dunes onto a glorious beach. Short drive or just over half hour walk into Seahouses for supermarket etc. Only negative with this property was the cleanliness. Surfaces were sticky and we had to wipe down on arrival, Under and at the back of beds looked like they hadnt seen a hoover or duster for quite a while.
Lovely location, perfect family break in a generally nice property. The main comment is that the hot water system in the cottage needs some investment and upgrading. There is only enough hot water to run one bath, and we ended up sharing baths after the children because otherwise the water runs cold and the one electric shower isn't very strong or adequate if the cottage is full. I actually went to the leisure centre mid week and washed my hair there. Also, a toy games chest would have been nice as well as all the DVDs.
A fabulous week was had by all, the accommodation was ideal. Thank you to all concerned
Lovely accommodation in a brilliant location. Within walking distance of Bamburgh and the beach. Enclosed garden for children. Perfect for our family holiday .
Perfect for our 3 generations. Proximity to beach and Bamburgh is great!
Very well equipped and comfortable property opposite the dunes with easy access to Bamburgh beach
Nice property, well equipped, good garden for dog. Close to excellent beach
Lovely cottage, always warm and very comfortable. There was everything you could need. Has a great holiday, it was very relaxing.
Excellent location, spacious and wellequipped property.
Excellent location and comfortable accommodation.
Deceptively sized property, beautifully furnished, great fire.
It was clean and comfortable. All facilities were satisfactory and we enjoyed our stay in what we consider to be a good location and we would not hesitate to use it again. Many thanks.
A lovely property close to the beach with excellent facilities.
We all agreed it was so comfortable. We all relaxed and really enjoyed our stay and looking forward to our next visit.
